Presented in a Hennessy XO branded box, this rich, full-bodied and complex cognac combines the spicy aromas of oak and leather with the delicious essences of flowers and ripe fruit.

A smooth blend of 100 eaux-de-vie specially selected from the four first growing areas, its deep amber color testifies to its appealing intensity and surreal spiciness. Coming with inviting leather and tobacco notes and a touch of spice, it is overall darker and much more complex than the VSOP.

The original Extra-Old Cognac, Hennessy XO was created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for the private use of the Hennessy family and friends. XO was then commercialized and shipped that same year to Ireland and later to Shanghai. Hennessy XO, the original of the category “eXtra Old”, was re-launched in 1947 in the now famous and very magnificent decanter.

Nose: It starts with dried-fruit aromas typical of prunes and dried figs. Eventually, the aromas evolve to more dense notes of chocolate and black pepper, mellowed by cinnamon, clove and cardamom.

Taste: Rich, robust and very balanced on the palate, Hennessy XO confirms the aromas discovered by scent: dried fruit and chocolate. It exemplifies balance, roundness and harmony among aromas with hints of peppery notes and vegetable fragrances from the oak.

Finish: A complex, lovely and persistent aftertaste enmeshed in velvet, offering the last sweet notes of cinnamon and vanilla.
